Cedarlan Ltd were established in 1963 and commenced production in its joinery works at Victoria Road, Cork. Within a few years it had outgrown the production space available at Victoria Road and moved to its present larger modern premises at Monahan Road, Cork. The company initially manufactured and erected prefabricated Cedar clad classrooms and housing units to cater for the advent of free education and the developing Irish holiday home market and serviced the joinery needs of it’s parent company Joseph Lane & Sons Building Contractors The early 1990’s saw more of a focus into the ever-expanding High Quality Joinery fit-out market with the vast majority of work in the Munster region. In the mid 1990’s a separate division was formed to promote Structural timber and Cedarlan acquired the Irish agency for “Glulam” Laminated timber beams. These are stocked at our workshop for integration in structural projects and for sale to the timber frame industry and general contractors.

Training and Careers
We at Cedarlan offer a range of training and career opportunities, the most obvious being that of a registered Fas apprenticeship in Carpentry / Joinery. Over the last 20 years, we have brought in many young people in as apprentices and developed their skills to the highest levels of the trade, and in turn earning a qualification recognised throughout the world.
We also offer, where possible, promotion of our staff in either our estimating or technical departments. In doing this, they are given the platform to progress in either field through the experience of working in our office with qualified staff, and also the option of undertaking courses outside of their working commitments.
Through providing these opportunities, we at Cedarlan believe that our staff and company alike can only benefit from the skills attained through various mediums, thus aiding us to maintain our required high standards in the construction industry.
Please note: we are always happy to receive C.V.'s from persons interested in serving apprenticeships in our company. Please send your C.V. to the address listed, to the attention of Production Manager, Mr. Gerry O'Connor.
